Spring is here, check out a few of the services that Dalman's Evergreens has to offer!

B1 Injections

A good way to reinforce your plant's health this season is with B-1 vitamin injections.  The B-1 vitamin stimulates growth of root hair follicles.  These follicles enable plants to take in water - and they were the first thing damaged during last year's drought. [Read Our Blog On B1 Injections]

maintenanceSlit Seeding

In order for grass seed to successfully germinate, it must be in constant contact with moist soil. A "slit seeder" is a machine that slices even rows into the soil, and drops grass seed directly into those rows to achieve seed-soil contact. Slit seeding is usually preformed over an existing lawn, where mature grass or weeds may get in the way of the new seed. Although the slit seeder may tear up some existing grass, the new seedlings will fill any thin areas within a few weeks and leave your lawn much thicker and more beautiful.

Aeration

Lawn aeration is your secret weapon in making your lawn healthy and full. Aeration is the act of making holes in the lawn either by pushing a rod into it or by extracting a small plug of soil (called "Coring"). Aerating your lawn provides the following benefits to your lawn and its root system:

- Oxygen gets deeper to the grass roots and the soil, which allows it to breathe
- Organic fertilizers and nutrients can easily work its way to the root system
- Water is able to better soak into soil and penetrate the entire root system
- Helps to break up and reduce thatch
- It loosens up the soil allowing the root system to grow more efficiently

maintenanceDethatching

Thatch is the build up of little bits and pieces of grass that gather and build up on the surface of the soil over time. A little bit of thatch can be beneficial to your lawn. It's organic material that is broken down by microbes in the soil. However, sometimes thatch builds up too fast for natural decomposition to occur. It forms a thick barrier that's hard to penetrate, keeping moisture and air from going where your grass needs it. One half an inch or more of thatch can weaken your lawn and lead to brown or dried out areas.
